Maturing/Senior Adult Ministry

In every church the most precious and valuable resource is its members. At First Baptist, we are blessed with many maturing and senior adults whose work and devotion has laid the foundation enabling us to be where we are today. We owe them a debt of gratitude that can never fully be repaid.

We also understand the unique spiritual and lifestyle needs of today’s maturing and senior adults. We strive to meet those needs in a personal way each day in a dynamic environment that is just as unique. It is our desire to exalt the name of Jesus, edify believers, enhance the work of the local church, and evangelize the lost.

Join us as we endeavor to carry out our Lord's command at home and around the world.

Opportunities for Involvement

Weekly Activities

Adult Sunday School

Classes are available for all adult age groups on Sunday mornings. Join us at 9:00 for a time of fellowship followed by Bible Study at 9:15.

Jubilation Singers

The Maturing/Senior Adult Choir meets each Thursday at 10:00 am in the choir practice room, and is open to any adult who would like to attend.

Monthly Activities

Keenagers

We meet in the Family Life Center on the second Monday of each month at 10:00 am. Bring a covered dish and join us for a time of food, fun, and fellowship.

Day Trips

Our adults have the opportunity to participate in traveling to many attractions in our area and some extended trips.

Other Activities

Adult Vacation Bible School

Most people think of Vacation Bible School as a church ministry that involves only children. At First Baptist we have also included our adults in VBS. Each year we have a week of Bible Study and fellowship not only for the adults our church, but also for our community. Make plans now to join us August 9-13, 2010 for Adult Vacation Bible School.
